I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and earned my bachelor’s degree from the University of Northern Iowa, then completed my Master’s degrees in Psychology and in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. I’ve also completed specialized training as a Perinatal Mental Health Provider (PMH-C) through Postpartum Support International. These experiences shaped both my clinical foundation and my deep commitment to supporting individuals through major transitions; especially during pregnancy, postpartum, and parenthood.
My goal as a therapist is to allow clients to truly feel seen, safe, and understood. I hold space for hard emotions while helping find clarity through my warm and grounded approach. I work with individuals who are carrying more than they show on the outside: women navigating stress and burnout, parents trying to stay centered, people processing big life transitions, and anyone who feels like they’ve been “keeping it together” for everyone but themselves.
My style is collaborative, compassionate, and practical. You’ll feel supported, but also gently challenged in the ways that foster real growth.
Outside of therapy, I spend most of my time with my family, engaging in sporting events and trying to focus on my own self-care so that I can serve you with my best self.
I am a licensed mental health counselor who works with clients 16 and older in the state of Iowa. Through my experience in various clinical settings, I have found a passion for working with perinatal mental health and supporting women and families throughout their journeys around parenthood. I have experience working with clients who are attempting to conceive, currently pregnant or postpartum, navigating birth/NICU-related trauma, and struggling with perinatal OCD, anxiety and depression. I also have a special interest in supporting clients who are experiencing infertility, pregnancy loss and infant loss as they navigate this unique grief experience.
Additionally, I enjoy working with late teens and adults struggling with anxiety, depression, life transitions, stress, eating disorders/disordered eating, and young adults/college students navigating this often transformative life state.
I received my master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Iowa and also have bachelor's degrees in art (printmaking) and social innovation. I am originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico, but have loved calling Iowa home for the past 10+ years.
In my time outside of counseling, I enjoy time with friends and family, playing with my mini dachshund, being active and spending time outdoors, cheering on the Iowa women's basketball team, reading, sewing and drawing.
I look forward to meeting you!
I am a licensed mental health counselor who works with women ages 16 and older. After spending four years as a school counselor, I transitioned into mental health counseling with a strong focus on supporting the perinatal population. Over the past two years, I’ve had training and experience working with individuals during pregnancy, postpartum, and early parenthood, as well as with college and graduate students and parents navigating the complexities of daily life. I earned my master’s degree in School Counseling from the University of Iowa and completed a master’s certificate in Mental Health Counseling at the University of Northern Iowa.
My counseling style is person-centered, blending CBT, DBT, and somatic work to help clients connect mind and body, build coping skills, and create meaningful change. At the core of my work is a deep belief that you are the expert of your own life. My role is to walk alongside you—to help you explore your experiences, uncover your strengths, and move toward the version of yourself that feels most authentic, empowered, and grounded. I strive to create a therapeutic space rooted in empathy, warmth, and genuine support, where you feel safe to process, heal, and grow.
I’m passionate about helping women navigate life transitions—whether that’s entering motherhood, adjusting to shifting identities, or managing stress and uncertainty in young adulthood. I especially enjoy supporting moms, the perinatal population, college/graduate students, and parents in all stages.
Outside of work, you’ll usually find me with my family—spending time with my daughter, son, our dog Melly, and my husband, Ben. I unwind with an episode of New Girl, take long walks, cheer on Iowa football at Kinnick Stadium, or enjoy slow mornings on the couch with a good cup of coffee.
I would love to connect and support you as you navigate your own journey toward healing, growth, and mental wellness.
I am a certified Family Nurse Practitioner and hold an additional certification in Perinatal Mental Health from Postpartum Support International. I developed an interest in mental health as it has such an impact on all aspects of life and overall health. I enjoy connecting with my clients and sharing the challenges, milestones, and triumphs that one may experience throughout life. I strive to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment where we can work together towards attainable health goals. I enjoy working with all women but specifically perinatal clients, college aged students, and young adults. Additionally, perinatal mental health has become a
true passion of mine. I understand motherhood can be a difficult, vulnerable, and demanding experience. The journey through motherhood is unique to each person, and I hope to help clients successfully navigate through this stage of life and the mental
health challenges that may occur.
